Oh Hyuk (31), the leader of the popular band Hyukoh, is set to tie the knot next month.
According to a report from Sports Seoul on November 29, Oh Hyuk has begun preparations for a wedding to be held at a private location in Seoul. A representative from his agency, DooRooDooRoo Artist Company, confirmed the news, stating, “Yes, Oh Hyuk is getting married. The ceremony will be a small, intimate event with only family and close friends in attendance.”
The news of Oh Hyuk’s marriage was kept so discreet that even those close to him were surprised. A close acquaintance recently admitted, “I had no idea he was getting married.” The agency also maintained strict confidentiality, only confirming the news following inquiries by Sports Seoul. The exact date and venue remain undisclosed.
Hyukoh debuted in 2014 with the mini-album 20, quickly gaining recognition when the title track Wi Ing Wi Ing transcended the indie scene to achieve mainstream success. The band made their network television debut in April 2015 on Yu Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook, catching the attention of producer Kim Tae Ho, who invited them to perform on MBC’s Infinite Challenge. Their collaboration with comedian Jeong Hyeong Don for the "2015 Yeongdong Expressway Song Festival" catapulted their popularity. That same year, Hyukoh ranked 18th in a poll of idol popularity, showcasing their rapid rise in prominence.
Known for his distinctive vocal tone and genre-spanning style—ranging from rock and funk to R&B and soul—Oh Hyuk has earned a reputation as an "irreplaceable vocal talent." His collaborations include work with top-tier artists such as IU, Epik High, Zion.T, Dynamic Duo, Primary, Peggy Gou, and Yaeji. Most recently, in May, he co-produced BTS RM’s track Come Back to Me, further highlighting his exceptional artistic range.
The announcement of Oh Hyuk’s upcoming wedding has sparked both surprise and celebration among fans and the music community, as he embarks on this new chapter in his life.
