Former DAY6 member Jae (eaJ) has voiced strong criticism against the funeral wreath protests staged by some of RIIZE's fans.
On October 17, Jae took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his disapproval, stating, "The funeral flowers were disgusting," condemning the actions in harsh terms.
The protests began after news broke that RIIZE member Seunghan, who had paused his activities due to a controversy over his private life, was returning to the group. Some members of the RIIZE fandom opposed his return and staged protests, sending funeral wreaths to SM Entertainment's building, demanding his permanent departure from the group.
As the protests intensified, Seunghan ultimately left RIIZE just two days after the announcement of his return. SM Entertainment officially confirmed Seunghan's departure, and Seunghan himself addressed the fans in a handwritten letter, sharing his side of the story.
Jae warned, "The same people who sent them will be the first ones online mourning the tragic outcome they fought for. God forbid tragedy occurs but I’ve been on that side before and It was close. I can’t imagine the trauma it would cause someone that young."
Jae also added, "Anyone involved in the flowers should be tried for attempted murder because that is what that was."
Jae, born in 1992, first gained recognition through the SBS audition program 'K-pop Star' Season 1 in 2011. He later debuted with the band DAY6 but left the group in 2022 and has since continued his solo career.
