ADOR released a statement refuting director Shin Woo Seok's claims.
On September 2nd, Shin Woo Seok, the head of the production company Dolphin Kidnapping, who directed the music videos for NewJeans' tracks "Ditto" and "ETA," revealed that ADOR has requested the deletion of all related work. In the early morning of September 3rd KST, ADOR released a statement refuting director Shin Woo Seok's claims.
"Hello. This is ADOR.
We would like to inform you of ADOR's position regarding the statement posted by Director Shin Woo Seok of Dolphin Kidnapping on his Instagram on September 2nd.
The director's cut of the ETA music video that Dolphin Kidnapping posted on their own social media channel is an edited version that contains parts that were previously disagreed with by the advertiser, and the video was posted without permission from the advertiser.
Further, since the copyright of the music video and all related works of NewJeans belongs to ADOR according to the contract between ADOR and Dolphin Kidnapping, the ETA music video and its edits (including the director's cut) must be posted on our official channel. This is to protect the rights of the artist.
ADOR only requested that the Dolphin Kidnapping take down the director's cut video, and has not requested the deletion or cessation of uploads of all videos related to NewJeans, including the Ban Hee Soo channel. ADOR's channel operation policy has also not changed.
However, Dolphin Kidnapping's director Shin Woo Seok is spreading false information that ADOR requested the deletion of not only the director's cut video but also all videos related to NewJeans, including the Ban Hee Soo channel.
ADOR would like to inform you that Director Shin Woo Seok's claims are significantly different from the facts as shown above, and we feel sorry about the breach of contract and the dissemination of false information by Dolphin Kidnapping.
We will do our best to ensure that the deleted NewJeans content can be uploaded to ADOR's official channel in the future.
Thank you."
