Singer Kwon Eun Bi is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming Japanese film ‘Final Hacking Game,’ which will be officially released on November 1.
On the morning of August 27 KST, a new poster and trailer for the film ‘Final Hacking Game’ were unveiled. The film is the latest installment in the ‘Stolen Identity’ series, based on the original novel by Japanese author Akira Shiga. The series first debuted in 2018 and attracted over 1.5 million viewers, grossing over 1.9 billion yen (approximately 13 million USD). The sequel, ‘Stolen Identity: Trapped Killer,’ released in 2020, also achieved box office success, surpassing 900,000 viewers despite theater closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In ‘Final Hacking Game,’ Kwon Eun Bi takes on the role of Sumin, a mysterious dark-haired beauty. Renowned director Hideo Nakata, known as a master of Japanese horror, praised Kwon Eun Bi for her impressive ability to convey emotions in Japanese and her dynamic physical expression.
The newly released poster features Kwon Eun Bi alongside the serial killer Urano (played by Narita Ryo), who targets dark-haired women. The eerie atmosphere, combined with Kwon Eun Bi’s enigmatic expression and the scattered smartphones, hints at the intense suspense within the film.
The trailer begins with a recap of the previous installments in the ‘Stolen Identity’ series, leading into the story of ‘Final Hacking Game,’ where the character Kagaya (played by Chiba Yudai) is shocked by the return of Urano. Kwon Eun Bi’s striking visuals and mysterious allure, along with the trailer’s suspenseful direction, leave a lasting impression, building anticipation for the full movie.
‘Final Hacking Game’ was also officially invited to the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in Gyeonggi-do last month. It was featured in the Mad MaxX section, which showcases new works by leading and emerging genre filmmakers, drawing significant attention.
Fans can look forward to experiencing Kwon Eun Bi’s unique charm when ‘Final Hacking Game’ hits theaters on November 1.
In addition to her acting debut, Kwon Eun Bi recently released a remake of the classic summer song ‘Please Take Care of Summer’ on July 28. The track, originally by the male duo Indigo, has been reinterpreted with Kwon Eun Bi’s clear, refreshing vocals and distinctive emotional style, earning her strong praise from listeners.
