In the upcoming episode of MBC's 'Radio Star' airing on July 10 KST, Jung Young Joo makes a special appearance. Jung Young Joo, who played the role of Park Bok Soon, the mother of the female lead Im Sol (Kim Hye Yoon) and the prospective mother-in-law to Ryu Sun Jae (Byun Woo Seok), returns to 'Radio Star' after two years. She is currently enjoying her newfound popularity as a global "national mom" due to the show's success, with fans from Chile, Mexico, Canada, and Thailand calling her "mom."
Jung Young Joo revealed she didn't expect the drama to become such a hit. She also shared an interesting tidbit about helping Byun Woo Seok develop his "melodramatic gaze" during the early stages of filming when he struggled with emotional scenes. Jung recounted, "He seemed shy and confused, so I casually gave him some advice, and suddenly, his eyes lit up with the right emotion."
She noted that Byun Woo Seok's ideal type is a petite, wise woman, much like Kim Hye Yoon, leading her to often joke, "Are you dating?" Jung, who had a front-row seat to the "Sol-Seonjae" couple's chemistry, said, "In those moments, they really seemed to like each other," heating up the studio atmosphere. She also shared more anecdotes about Byun Woo Seok's endearing qualities.
