Actress Uhm Jung Hwa expressed her views on age in a recent video on her YouTube channel 'Umaizing Uhm Jung-hwa TV,'
where she visited the studio of multi-artist Melo.
During their conversation, they discussed Melo's unique fashion and her brand's appeal to free-spirited teens. Uhm Jung-hwa shared her love for street fashion but also voiced concerns about wearing clothes that might not suit her age. Melo reassured her that as long as she feels comfortable and stylish, it's her style.
Uhm Jung Hwa also opened up about the frequent mention of her age in media, contrasting it with how male actors are treated.
"It seems like my age is constantly being pointed out. They don’t do that with male actors, but they do with female actors and singers. It feels somewhat violent. It’s not right to mention age before the work someone has done."
She called this focus on age for female entertainers violent and inappropriate, arguing that work should be prioritized over age. Melo agreed, noting that younger generations often treat age as personal information to avoid biases.
