What happened to Jane Wang & Vicky Wei, pre-debut members of BABYMONSTER?

Jane Wang and Vicky Wei

Eagle-eyed fans have deduced that Jane Wang and Vicky Wei from the survival show Chinese Star Culture were once pre-debut members of BABYMONSTER. Back in 2020, YG Entertainment, under their Chinese label Shining Star Culture, sent these two Chinese trainees to participate in Youth With You. This show eventually led to the formation of the project girl group THE9.

While on the show, the trainees were introduced as part of BABYMONSTER, sparking widespread speculation about YG's next girl group following BLACKPINK.

Post-show, it remains unclear whether the members left BABYMONSTER or simply didn't make it into the final lineup. In the footage from Introducing BABYMONSTER, there are three trainees who did not join the final team. Fans speculate that Jane Wang and Vicky Wei could be among them.

However, it seems unlikely that Jane Wang and Vicky Wei crossed paths with BABYMONSTER's debut members. After their elimination from Youth With You, Vicky Wei left Shining Star Culture in early 2023. She was later revealed as a member of UNIVU5, debuting under her real name, Wei Chen, on April 10, 2023.

Jane Wang is also rumored to have left Shining Star Culture and was notably active on Instagram until December 2022.

They likely didn't make the cut but I would also say there is something to say about them being Chinese. We are getting less and less these days with the hatefulness of Knetz
