Renowned vocal coach and composer-producer Park Sun-Ju has revealed in an interview with Sports Korea that she plans to release her sixth solo album this fall.
The upcoming album, tentatively titled '432 Park Avenue,' marks Park Sun-Ju's first solo project in 17 years since her 5th album 'Dreamer' in 2007. Featuring a more mature vocal technique, the album is grounded in 100% jazz music, enriched with a mix of electronic and acid styles to enhance the listening experience.
During her exploration of jazz vocals and sound, particularly from the 50s and 60s by artists like Nat King Cole and Tony Bennett, Park Sun-Ju questioned why these sounds seemed more pleasant and accessible. She concluded that the difference in the frequency range played a significant role, leading to the decision to record the new album at the historically used 432Hz instead of the modern 440Hz.
This choice, among others, is expected to spark significant discussion within both the popular music and musical instrument industries.
Park Sun-Ju also shared her intention to focus solely on music this year, stepping back from various judging roles, marking the 35th anniversary of her debut as 'Ear.'
For more on Park Sun-Ju's 6th album, her role as a vocal trainer, her rigorous approach to judging K-pop singers, and various behind-the-scenes stories never before shared with the media, stay tuned for the feature in Sports Korea's 'Jo Sung-Jin's Singing Mastery' on Thursday, 8th.
