Last week, ZEROBASEONE member Kim Ji Woong was under fire after a video was shared on social media.
In the video, Kim Ji Woong was allegedly heard using inappropriate language, specifically uttering the word "Ssibal (FU*K)," following a video call fan meeting.
The video was initially shared by the fan who was in the video fan meeting with Kim Ji Woong and decided to share it on social media to express the distress she felt upon hearing that word.
After the video's release, WAKEONE released a statement regarding the spread of false information. The agency stated that it would strictly respond with a zero-tolerance policy to crimes that infringe upon the artists' rights, invade their privacy, and threaten their safety.
This resulted in netizens accusing the fan who originally shared the video of being a Sasaeng fan, alleging that her actions had provoked Kim Ji Woong to use offensive language towards her.
Nevertheless, some fans plan to send protest trucks to WAKEONE demanding the departure of Kim Ji Woong from ZEROBASEONE.
They shared some of the phrases that will be displayed on the protest truck and explained, "We're pre-revealing a few phrases that will be displayed on the protest truck" and included hashtags "Kim Ji Woong, Leave (the group) if you have a conscience," and "Please leave Kim Ji Woong."
These fans continued to raise issues with Kim Ji Woong's inappropriate language in the fan video.
Translation: "Mr. Kim Ji Woong withdraw from group." The words "Ssi," which is an honorific word used when mentioning names, and "Bbal" from the word "Bbal-Li (quickly)" are in red to show the word "Ssi-bbal."
Translation: "We voted for you to debut but what we got in return is a curse to the face. Kim Ji Woong withdraw."
Translation: "If you proceed like this, ZEROSEs will all desert you. (Kim Ji Woong is) the eldest member causing a nuisance to his 8 younger members."
Translation: "The group will have the stigma of being a fan-hating group because of one troublesome member. Kim Ji Woong withdraw."
Other netizens commented, "They chose the right phrases," "The agency made this worse," "If he couldn't even apologize, they should've just stayed quiet but the agency made things worse by making that statement," "They're being so strong," "He is the eldest member? Wow," "The agency released that statement, so the fans are mad," "I don't think this is excessive," "He should've just apologized, why did they release that statement?" "I feel so bad for that fan," and "He is causing trouble to the group. He basically cursed at a fan and is now falsely accusing her of being a Sasaeng. That's so messed up."
