G-Dragon could be entering a collaboration with Madison Square Garden, the operator of the world's largest spherical building in Las Vegas known as The Sphere. After facing public scrutiny last year after being unfairly accused of drug allegations, G-Dragon is poised to reinvigorate his global presence with an upcoming comeback.
According to an exclusive Iglan Sports report on January 10, there are ongoing discussions between G-Dragon and Madison Square Garden (MSG), a prominent U.S. sports and entertainment company, concerning potential performances at The Sphere. The nature of these discussions includes deliberations on whether G-Dragon will pursue solo concerts or engage in joint performances with other artists.
The Sphere, a spectacular new performance venue in Las Vegas, represents a monumental achievement. It was unveiled in September 2023 after seven years of meticulous planning and construction by Madison Square Garden Entertainment. The project is said to have cost a staggering 2.3 billion USD. There is 18,600 seats inside the venue which features a 16K resolution wraparound interior LED screen.
This architectural marvel stands 111 meters tall, the equivalent of a 40-story building, and measures 157 meters in diameter. What sets The Sphere apart is its immense outer wall, adorned with screens that span an area of 53,884 square meters. This is roughly the size of two and a half soccer fields, making it the world's largest LED screen.
G-Dragon, along with Choi Yong Ho, CEO of his new agency, Galaxy Corporation, graced the 'CES 2024' in Las Vegas on January 9. As the exhibition opened, G-Dragon toured the booths of major Korean corporations, including industry giants like Samsung, LG, SK, HD Hyundai, and others.
This potential performances at The Sphere is capturing considerable attention as it marks G-Dragon's first official activity since successfully clearing the drug allegations and securing an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation. The company expressed, "As a leader in AI and the metaverse, we have been regular participants at CES. G-Dragon, with a keen interest in this field, chose to join the CEO for an observational visit to the exhibition."
G-Dragon, who faced an investigation for alleged drug law violations in October last year, recently received a final acquittal. Following this legal resolution, he joined forces with Galaxy Corporation to establish the 'Justice Foundation,' dedicated to combating drug issues and supporting addicted youth.
With a fresh start alongside Galaxy Corporation, he is hinting at a global presence while engaging in discussions for collaboration with Madison Square Garden.
