Jimin's hugely successful solo debut continues to receive accolades from highly reputable music institutions in different countries, most notably in the top-most music markets in the world, a show of his impact as a solo artist.

Recently, his solo debut album's lead single 'Like Crazy'officially attained a Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Platinum Certification for having sold over a million units in the USA, the world's largest music market. Consequently, 'Like Crazy' became the first solo song by a Korean solo artist in the past decade to attain this certification, and overall it is the second solo song by a Korean solo artist only after PSY's 'Gangnam Style'. In addition, both songs are the only Korean songs by Korean/K-pop soloists in history to be certified RIAA Platinum.

Notably, this official certification came 3 months after the song had already attained this milestone as reported back in August , which made it the first 2023 song by a Korean/K-pop soloist to reach this feat [read here].

Numerous Korean media outlets, including Television networks as well as online publications, reported on this major achievement.

"Like crazy" which achieved 1 million units in August of this year has finally been certified platinum and Like crazy immediately rose to the top of the worldwide trend. In fact, 'Like Crazy' had already surpassed 1 million units in the US on August 26, making it the first solo song by a Korean soloist to qualify for platinum status among songs released in 2023. It was only on November 30th that it succeeded in obtaining final certification.

With this certification, Jimin has now attained major milestones in 3 of the Top 10 music markets globally, two of which rank as 1st and 2nd (USA and Japan) and the third (Canada) ranks 8th. 

• In the USA, he has reached #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Artist 100 charts, and has attained RIAA Platinum certification with 'Like Crazy' for over 1Million units sold.
• In Japan, he has reached #1 on Artist 100 and attained RIAJ Platinum certification with 'FACE' for selling over 250,000 units.
• In Canada, he has attained Music Canada Gold Certification with 'Like Crazy' for selling over 40,000 units.

In effect, Jimin is the first and only Asian Solo Artist to hold all these achievements simultaneously (RIAA, RIAJ, Music Canada, and Hot 100 #1). Jimin also remains the only Korean/K-pop soloist so peak at #1 on both Billboard Artist 100 and Billboard Japan Artist 100 charts, and that too simultaneously. 

To be the only Asian solo artist in history to have attained all the aforementioned achievements simultaneously is a tremendous achievement that had fans beaming with immeasurable pride and joy for his unstoppable success, as it was evident from the trends on X, with the celebratory tags making it all the way to the top of the Worldwide trends list.

In other news, Jimin was featured in a publication by The New York Times, listing the Top 20 things that happened in 2023, which were also happening for the very first time in history and are now recorded in history books to be remembered through the future generations.

Jimin reaching #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 made him the first Korean solo artist to ever achieve this, and the publication mentioned this legendary moment of his career. Of note, Billboard Hot 100 is one of the 3 primary Billboard charts in the USA, with this one specifically focusing on singles. Till now, he remains the only Korean/K-pop soloist to peak at #1 on this chart with a solo song. The USA is the #1 music market in the world by size and revenue, making Jimin's achievement a big deal and an iconic and historic occasion in the music world. This feat was listed alongside other pivotal global occurrences that will similarly be noted in historical records.

Jimin continues to outdo himself time and again with the depth of his impact, and for sure his name is already noted alongside all other great names in history to be remembered for generations to come.
