Han Seung Woo, an all-rounder artist signed under IST Entertainment, debuted as a member of VICTON in 2016 before venturing into his solo career path in 2020. He released his solo debut mini-album ‘Fame,' including the title track “Sacrifice,” which is about sacrificing anything for love.

After being discharged from the military, Han Seung Woo made his awaited comeback with his latest record 'FRAME,' featuring the R&B hip-hop genre title track "Dive Into” with the lyrics that contain gradually falling in love and sweet messages of living together toward a place that only belongs to the two.

‘FRAME’ is Seung Woo’s third mini-album, and it shows that the mood of the artist has become more mature. Through the songs, the singer expresses his life and our lives under various frames as well as the countless emotions we feel from them.

Apart from the main song “Dive Into,” ‘FRAME’ includes six additional songs that serve as the album’s B-side tracks. The opening single, “Intro,” marks the start of both the album and the third track “Runnin' High,” which showcases bold aspirations. The fourth track, named “Burn,” explores the theme of intense love at any given moment. On the other hand, “Lovelorn” delves into the anguish of saying goodbye, displaying a dark contrast to the punk and cheerful rock styles. Lastly, the sweet song “Flutter,” followed by “Dawn,” the concluding song of the album. “Dawn” centers on the theme of distress due to being unable to fall asleep at the end of the early morning.

allkpop: First of all, congratulations on the release of your new mini-album 'FRAME'! Could you tell us more about 'FRAME,' and why you name it that? After all the things that happened, you know, being discharged from the military, how special do you think this comeback is for you?

Han Seung Woo: Hi, I'm Han Seung Woo. First of all, the album ‘FRAME’ was named because the emotions I felt while living felt like a frame. This comeback also meant a new beginning for me, so it was an album that I paid more attention to, and it was also an album that made me nervous.

allkpop: Tell us more about the story you want to tell! Your 1st EP is titled 'Fame,' while the second one is 'Fade.' Now, you're back with 'FRAME'! They all rhyme! Is this a trilogy, or something that has a connection with each other?

Han Seung Woo: These are albums depicting the life of a person named Han Seung Woo, and each album contains the image of Han Seung-woo at that time. Taking care to start with F was a later issue, and this album focused more on capturing the process of a person named Han Seung Woo gradually maturing.

allkpop: From your previous EPs 'Fame' and 'Fade,' where you also took part in writing the lyrics for all the tracks, to 'Frame' where you, once again, wrote and even composed all the tracks from the album! It's impressive that you've participated in the creation of all your songs so far! How does it feel to be able to take part in it?

Han Seung Woo: Composing and writing lyrics is a task to express my feelings, and the thought of being able to comfort someone's heart with music containing these feelings makes me feel very happy.

allkpop: How do you usually start writing a piece of music? Some have notes where they jot down their ideas, etc. But how does it work for you? Do you have any writing styles?

Han Seung Woo: I also make notes whenever I think of it, but when the color of the song I want is clear, I think I do it quickly without having to work on it in advance.

allkpop: Tell us how you came up with all the songs you included in this album. You might have a bunch of unreleased songs, putting out only 6 tracks in this EP in the end, was it hard for you to choose the songs that perfectly fit in this record? How was the process of cherry-picking the tracks?

Han Seung Woo: To be honest, since I started working with the flow of this album set in advance, I don’t think there was much difficulty in choosing. The message I wanted to put in each track was clear to match the color of the album, and I think it could have been an album that could be loved by many people because those clear messages improved the perfection of the album called 'FRAME.'

allkpop: You're set to embark on your first solo Asia tour! How are you feeling that you'll be meeting and performing in front of your fans as a solo artist?

Han Seung Woo: For a singer, performing is such a great happiness. I am going to the concert with excitement because I feel like I have an opportunity to share this happiness I feel with overseas fans.

allkpop: You seem so busy as you prepare for your upcoming album and tour. We're wondering, how do you usually spend your free time unwinding and relaxing a bit after work?

Han Seung Woo: I think I monitor myself a lot while taking a break. I also have a lot of areas that I am still lacking in, so I tend to monitor them constantly.

allkpop: Speaking of the upcoming tour, how's the preparation process going? Do you have any rituals or preparations you do before taking the stage?

Han Seung Woo: We are thinking and working hard for better performance. Before going on stage, I promise to enjoy it to the fullest because it is my stage.
