The K-fantasy drama 'Tale of the Nine Tailed' has made a comeback with its latest installment, 'Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938', and has broken its own viewer rating records.
According to Nielsen Korea, a rating research company, the first episode of 'Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938' that aired on May 6 received a nationwide rating of 6.5%, surpassing the previous work's highest viewership rating of 5.8%.
The storyline of 'Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938' follows the time travel journey of Lee Yeon (played by Lee Dong Wook), a gumiho who gets trapped in the Japanese colonial era. He works with Taluipa (played by Kim Jung Nan) to reincarnate his deceased younger brother by defeating the monsters that are disturbing the world of the living.
In the first episode, Lee Yeon travels back in time to 1938 and reunites with his younger brother Lee Rang (played by Kim Bum), who is still alive in the past. They join forces to defeat 'Dong Bang Sak, the 3,000-year-old man' (played by Young Hoon) but get trapped in the past as the time gate to the present day closes.
Viewers are excited about the exciting development from the first episode and are looking forward to the story develop. Doesn't surprise me, The Tale of the Nine Tailed was brilliant, and right now, Lee Dong Wook can do no wrong, he is a quite brilliant actor.
