NewJeans has been officially registered in the Guinness World Records.
According to ADOR on May 9 KST, NewJeans was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest among K-Pop singers to reach 1 billion cumulative streaming on Spotify in the shortest time.
On March 8 KST, NewJeans achieved 1 billion streaming on Spotify in 219 days. The previous record for a Kpop artist in this field was 409 days, and Jungkook of BTS achieved 1 billion streams with 3 tracks during that period. In contrast, Guinness World Records emphasized that the record number of streams NewJeans received was achieved with the streaming of six of their songs songs, "Attention," "Hype Boy," "Cookie," "Hurt," "OMG," and "Ditto."
In addition, "OMG" and "Ditto", were described as the most played songs among NewJeans' songs, and the number of streams of "Zero", a collaboration song with Coca-Cola released last month, was also notable.
As of May 7 KST, NewJeans achieved 1.4 billion streams on Spotify with a total of 7 songs. Five of the seven released songs recorded 100 million streams, including “OMG,” “Ditto,” and “Hype Boy” with 300 million streams, “Attention” with 200 million streams, and “Cookie” with 100 million streams.
