The lovely flower girl of IVE, Rei took part in a dreamy spring pictorial for the May issue of 'Cosmopolitan' magazine.
For this pictorial, the IVE member became a character in a fairy tale as she interacted with various flowers as props. In her interview with the magazine, Rei also revealed the special relationship she had with flowers.
She said, "Ever since I was young, my family has had a tradition of gifting one another flowers for any celebratory occasion. When I first came to Korea, my mother came with me. While I went to practices, my mother would wait for me at the hotel. Every day, she would buy a rose and give it to me once I returned, saying, 'Rei, you did great today'. She gave me so much strength in those days. I made a promise to myself back then, that I would one day bring my mother more roses than she gave me, and bigger ones."
Has Rei had a chance to gift her mother flowers since then? The IVE member replied, "When I turned 20-years old, my mother came to Korea to celebrate my birthday. I had a feeling that she would bring flowers with her, so I prepared flowers myself. Once we met up, we exchanged flower gifts, and that was when I felt moved in a way that words cannot describe. I felt choked up, thinking that I had grown up enough to buy flowers myself and give them to my mother."
Rei then added on, "But my mother prepared flowers which were much bigger than mine. Thanks to that, I realized that I still had a long way to go. At the same time, when I think of my mother and roses, I feel a pang in my heart."
wishing Rei all the best in her career! hopefully she will stay healthy as well, can imagine the stress with her family so far away
