Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, recently became the first person to get six covers for 'Vogue Korea.' He achieved the record the first time he was featured individually as a cover model for a magazine.
Based on updated sales posted on October 2, Chinese fans have purchased a total of 72,852 copies of V's 'Vogue Korea' magazine through various platforms.
50,225 sales came through a group order organized by his fanclub, 'Baidu Vbar,' while the rest was ordered by Chinese fans individually through other e-commerce sites.
The previous record was held by a member of another K-pop group, with a group order sale of 49,000 copies, making Taehyung now #1 in the sales ranking among K-pop artists.
Taehyung's high sales in China may not be surprising to most since he has been the most popular BTS member since the group's debut years.
Based on September's data, Taehyung has retained his position as the most-searched member on Baidu, China's largest search engine, and has the highest index on Wechat, China's largest instant messaging app.
Although Taehyung's birthday is still 3 months away, 'China Vbar' has also started the first of their many birthday projects this year by placing an ad on all six versions of his 'Vogue Korea' magazines.
Aside from his great performance in China, Taehyung's 'Vogue Korea' cover also became the #1 best-selling magazine on Ktown4u, the most popular online store for international K-pop fans. He proved his great selling power by surpassing 50,000 sales in less than 2 weeks.
Taehyung should accept projects in China like other idols since he has demand there.
