Joo Ji Hoon, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Hee Jun, Lee Moo Saeng and Park Ji Yeon will be leading the cast of a new dark sci-fi mystery drama series scripted by Lee Soo Yeon, titled 'The Dominant Species'.
A masterful scriptwriter known for tvN's 'Stranger' and 'Life', Disney Plus Korea's 'Grid' and more, Lee Soo Yeon's new project, 'The Dominant Species', tells the story of a future where humankind has abandoned consumption of meat through animal slaughter. All meat consumption thus occurs through cell-culture meat production, and a biotechnology institute known as 'BF' stands at the top of the market in the business of meat production. The story takes a turn when insiders at 'BF' begin to raise questions about the whereabouts of the institute's president.
Actor Joo Ji Hoon takes on the role of Woo Chae Woon, a former naval soldier currently working as a bodyguard. Han Hyo Joo plays the president of 'BF', Yoon Ja Yoo, while Lee Hee Jun joins the cast of 'The Dominant Species' as prime minister Seon Woo Jae. Lee Moo Saeng takes on the role of chief biophysicist On San, and last but not least, Park Ji Yeon plays Jung Hae Deun, planning director of 'BF'.
Filming for 'The Dominant Species' is slated to begin in the second half of 2022. What do you think of the premise of the new series so far?
What i think is that Korea really knows how to make genre films/dramas ....I love most Korean horror/Sci-Fi and the cast looks good but the writer is kinda hit and miss as Stranger was great but Grid had a VERY messy ending...
