Tattoos are still pretty taboo in Korea, and it is frowned upon in the relatively conservative culture of South Korea. However, as the years go by, the acceptance of tattoos have been opening up, and while we often see celebrities' tattoos covered up in broadcasted shows, we still have celebrities with great tattoos. With more platforms opening up for the entertainment industry, we are able to see it more and more on less-regulated platforms, such as Netflix or YouTube.
Today -- we'll be taking a look at some celebrities with some cool tattoos and see what they mean to these celebrities. Without further ado, let's take a look!
Taeyeon - Glasses
Taeyeon has a tiny glasses tattoo on one of her fingers. It is assumed that it has to do with the optical shop that her father used to run before she was born!
MONSTA X - IM
IM has a multi-faced tattoo on his wrist, most likely meaning "duality," just like his solo album. It looks like a smiley face, while it also looks like a depressed face as well.
HA:TFELT
Former Wonder Girls member has a blue bird tattoo, as well as a flower tattoo that symbolizes things that she also released through her solo albums "MEiNE" and "Summertime."
NCT Taeyong
Taeyong has a tattoo of his dog "Ruby" characterized on his inner arm. Though Ruby is no longer with Taeyong anymore, it's a way to remember Ruby forever and ever.
HyunA
Queen HyunA also has tattoos. She has several, but one of her favorites is her colorful smiley face tattoos on her arms. It portrays her cute and colorful charm!
VICTON Han Seungwoo
Seungwoo did not ever want to forget the group's "Time of Sorrow" promotions, so he got this lilac tattoo to remember his youth forever and ever!
MAMAMOO Whee In
Hweein has a tattoo on the back of her hand in the shape and color of a flower, and this was actually a friendship tattoo! They must be super close, as this is something that is permanent!
The Boyz New
New has a cross-shaped tattoo on his pinky finger to showcase his faith and Christianity!
Heize
Heize has a tattoo that has the lettering of her name on her left hand to never be ashamed that she is a successful artist and rapper!
ZICO
Zico's famous "John the Apostle" tattoo shows his baptism name showing his religion, catholicism, and he is never ashamed to show off this tattoo!
