Jimin is not only the pride of Korea, but in his hometown, many look up to him, and he has since been given the title of Prince of Busan.
On the 21st of April, it was revealed by Korean media that Jimin would be getting a photo zone at the Oryukdo Dock in Yongho-dong Busan. It was stated by an area District official that due to a high number of inquiries, they hoped that the bright photo zone would be seen by domestic and foreign tourists even at night. The photo zone reads, 'BTS Jimin's photoshoot location.'
It should be remembered that the Oryukdo dock is the place where jimin stopped by to shoot a YouTube vlog after visiting with his parents for a vacation in January 2015. The charming seaside seems to have captivated people since then, and many were curious about the place. Because the island had changed over time, making it hard to find the location, the district set up the photo zone so that tourists could easily access it.
BTS' Jimin, who has shown love for Busan by launching several support donations specifically towards education, was first given the title of Prince of Geumjeong Busan when his hometown picked Travel To Geumjeong with BTS Jimin as their theme and won first place on the 22nd Busan International Travel Fair in September 2019. The Dadaepo beach in Busan, where Jimin filmed a vlog back in 2016, was ranked second in the 2019 Korea Tourism Organization's "10 BTS Related Locations Fans Want To Visit" based on an international poll. Also, in the same year, BTS held their 5th Muster in Busan, and there were congratulatory banners organized all around to show their support and love for Jimin. They all hailed him as their Prince and son whom they were proud of.
For his birthday projects in 2019, Jimin received a special water show in Dadaepo. In 2020, there was a festival of celebration in Busan, which included a Jimin road and cafe events. Additionally, last year, Fan base Jimin Bar China which is known for its grand projects, organized for the Busan Tower to light up for his birthday, and this was reported in the Busan Ilbo newspaper. To celebrate Jimin's own song Friends being played in the Hollywood Marvel's Blockbuster Eternals, Jimin's fans led the way by coming together to watch the movie and listen to his song, thus contributing to its high ratings in the country.
This is the second time that Jimin is getting a photo zone in honor of his visit this year. In December and early this year, thanks to his short vacation on the island of Jeju, Jimin sparked an influx of visitors, especially after visiting the Nuwemaru street, Snoopy Garden, and Seolkumbadang Beach and sharing the photos on his Instagram account. This prompted the creation of the Nuwemaru photo zone, where visitors took commemorative photos; because of the positive economic impact felt on the region, the Jeju Tourism Organization founded a photo-taking contest at the places where Jimin visited for a chance to win cash prizes.
Moreover, the city of Jeju earned itself a high place on the brand reputation rankings in January, jumping to the 2nd spot from the 11th of December last year. This was a result of the heightened activity occasioned by Jimin's visit.
The in-demand Jimin photo zones at Jeju and Busan speak of his viral influence and popularity. They also show that his impact will continue to be felt for years to come.
SO PROUD OF YOU JIMIN💛
