Netizens showed concern as there has been an increase in the number of K-Pop idols diagnosed with COVID-19 this week.
On January 19 KST, EPEX members Wish, A-Min, and Jeff tested for COVID-19 according to the group's agency, C9 Entertainment. Following the news, it was confirmed that Super Junior member Eunhyuk tested positive for the virus by his agency Label SJ.
In addition, several artists under YG Entertainment were diagnosed with COVID-19. On January 23, it was revealed that iKON members Jinhwan, Yunhyeong, and Donghyuk have been confirmed positive for COVID-19. WINNER member Lee Seung Hoon preemptively used a self-testing kit which gave a positive result the next day. Then on January 25, iKON member Koo Jun Hoe and labelmate TREASURE's Yoshi have also confirmed positive. Earlier today, iKON's Chanwoo together with TREASURE members Hyunsuk, Junkyu, and Mashiho were all declared as having positive results for the virus despite completing their vaccinations.
On January 24, it was confirmed that The Boyz member Eric has been confirmed positive, days after, the group's agency IST Entertainment officially released statements that fellow members Younghoon and Hyunjae have also tested positive for the virus.
Following the earlier reports, WEi members Kim Dong Han, Yoo Yong Ha, and Kang Seok Hwa all underwent PCR tests on January 25 and have also been confirmed positive for COVID-19. On the next day, Hyolyn's agency Bridge released an official statement revealing that the soloist tested positive for the virus.
Earlier today, Kep1er members Chaehyun and Youngeun recently underwent PCR tests and have been confirmed positive for the virus, the group's agency Wake One Entertainment stated that they are fully vaccinated. Additionally, former IZ*ONE member Kwon Eun Bi and Weeekly member Jaehee have also tested positive for COVID-19.
