Can we safely say that the fourth-generation boom of K-POP has officially begun? While some may disagree, it can be said that the idol groups that are being launched these days are putting in arduous work, and K-POP has evolved so much more!
2021 blessed us with many new girl groups, such as IVE.
In the previous year, aespa and STAY-C also debuted.
It's time to take a look and see what groups are among us to join the K-POP genre in 2022! Let's check out these groups that are subject to debut this year!
H1-KEY
They actually already debuted, but it's been less than a month, so it is definitely worth mentioning! Produced by the same label as vocalist Stella Jang, this four-member girl group debuted on January 5, 2022.
NMIXX
ALERT- A GIRL GROUP BY JYP! NMIXX is JYP has been very successful with girl groups such as TWICE and ITZY, leaving us even more excited for NMIXX's debut. If TWICE was all about the visuals (and of course - they are talented), and if ITZY was all about dance, NMIXX will be a group of vocalists.
BABY MONSTER
BABY MONSTERS will be YG Entertainment's first girl group after BLACK PINK, and rumor has it that preparations are huge for this group. The group will consist of five members, and they are projected to sometime this year.
Min Hee Jin's Girl Group (Unnamed)
Min Hee Jin served as the visual director for f(x) and SHINee, and she will be launching a girl group under HYBE's subsidiary ADOR.
SOURCE MUSIC Girl Group (Unnamed)
G-Friend's former label SOURCE MUSIC will also be launching a girl group in 2022. May we say no one had high hopes of G-Friend when they first debuted as SOURCE MUSIC isn't a huge label, yet they succeeded almost instantly. The group will consist of mainly Source Music trainees that were Produce 48 contestants.
MLD Girl Group (Unnamed)
Momoland's label MLD is also preparing to debut a girl group in 2022 with Girls Planet 999 contestant Nonaka Shana.
Wow! That is quite a list. We can be sure of one thing -- we are ready for all these new girl groups! The competition may have gotten tougher, but if the music is excellent, then we K-POP fans will remain happy. Which girl group debut are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments below!
