On the 12th of January, it was announced that the Hollywood blockbuster Eternals arrived on the Disney plus channel.

This news spelled excitement for those who had not gotten the chance to watch it in cinemas last year, while those who had were even happier to rewatch the movie. As they did, several sharp-eyed fans noticed that apart from Jimin's song being played and his credits being shown, they spotted a photo card of Jimin from the 'Army Bomb version 3' displayed on a wall, along with photocards and photos of the other members too. 

In October last year, Walt Disney confirmed that Friends written, composed, and produced by Jimin and performed with Taehyung would be a part of Marvel's The Eternals soundtrack as the first Korean song to be used as an OST for a Hollywood blockbuster Marvel movie. The news sparked pride and excitement among fans, trended high worldwide, with media outlets worldwide reporting about the good news. When the movie was released in cinemas on November 5th, "it ranked first in South Korea's Box office giving becoming its biggest box office weekend of 2021 and second-biggest opening during the pandemic."

Jimin's name was also included in the closing credits of the movie as the writer of the song and in an interview, Director Chloe Zhao, revealed her love for Jimin and how the song was a perfect fit for the scene, clearly highlighting Jimin's impact on the global scale. 

In Korea and Paraguay, Jimin's fans and ARMY organized various support projects to honor Jimin's production and performance with fellow member Taehyung. They were displayed on 1500 unmanned kiosks in CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox across South Korea, together with organizing movie screenings in the cities of Busan, Shinchon, Ilsan, Daegu, and more.

Friends was released as a unit song of the MOTS: 7 Album on February 21, 2020. It was the 7th Boy Group song with the most GAON digital points in 2020, as well as being a nominee of Gaon chart song of the year award. It ranked highest among all tracks from the album on the Billboard Japan's singles chart and streaming chart and was second after title track ON on Japan's Line Music Hot 100 chart as well as achieving 60 number 1's on iTunes Worldwide.
