NU'EST's Ren will not be participating in the '2021 KBS Gayo Festival' after coming in contact with a positive COVID-19 case.
On December 16, Pledis Entertainment released an official statement, revealing that NU'EST member Ren will be absent from the upcoming '2021 KBS Gayo Festival'.
Below is Pledis Entertainment's official statement:
"Hello,
This is Pledis Entertainment.
We wanted to inform you about NU'EST member Ren's schedule.
On the evening of December 14 (Tuesday), Ren was confirmed to have come into close contact with a positive COVID-19 case and he immediately underwent a PCR test on December 15 (Wednesday), where he received negative results.
From December 14 (Tuesday) and on, there was no contact made between Ren and the NU'EST members.
All of the NU'EST members have received their full two doses of vaccination in early November. There are no restrictions for any outside activities if PCR test results come back negative. In addition, Ren currently has no suspicious symptoms such as fever or respiratory diseases.
Nevertheless, in consideration of the health and safety of those around him, Ren began his self-quarantine on December 15 (Wednesday) and plans to undergo an additional PCR test according to the guidelines of the health services.
As such, Ren will be absent from the originally scheduled '2021 KBS Gayo Festival', and NU'EST will stand on stage as 4 members. We ask for your understanding.
We will update you as soon as we confirm the plans for Ren's return to his activities.
We will continue to prioritize the safety of our artists, and responsibly comply with the quarantine guidelines of health authorities.
Thank you."
