Weverse Magazine is set to release individual interviews of the BTS members and their feelings towards their recent "Butter" album, starting out with the golden maknae, Jeon Jungkook.
In the lead, we can read that JK is talking for the group by saying that he thinks they better never stop. In charge of the whole article and interview, Kang Myungseok asked deep questions about his emotions, his thoughts, and his developments as a young artist, as well as his experience while doing "Butter," "Dynamite," and of course, his mindset towards the idea of belonging in a band that has broken their own records on the Billboard Charts.
Mentioning Billie Eilish and her debut album as an influence on how he wanted to express his feelings in songs, JK talked about his debut mixtape, something he has been working on very recently and that he believes, it still has a lot of things to get it right first. He shared some memories from when he was 13 years old, how he wanted to eat the world by singing, his only dream since then, and the changes he could see in himself while being in the band and being raising up by his 6 older bandmates. JK, of course, admits that he might be even better right now than when he was at the age of 13, not only on the outside but also on the inside, explaining that he feels a lot more mature in many ways. Still, he would keep up choosing a certain type of candy, just like when he was younger. In the interview, he also remembered the time when he and j-hope got into a huge fight over a banana in BTS's debut days.
The interviewer pointed out the number of talent that Jungkook possesses asides from singing, like dancing, painting and the fact that he could easily imitate anyone's voices while singing their parts or lines, putting SUGA as an example: in a recent VLive, JK sang his hyung's part on "Life Goes On," and fans went crazy by the similarities between their voices. JK described that this is because he has acquired the member's vocal patterns due to the amount of time they are all together, so he tends to imitate them as a way of training his voice, an action he does more than a whole hour a day, every day. He puts a lot of pressure on himself because that's how he thinks he must act, being an artist who is ruling the Billboard charts around the world. JK recognized how he didn't care a lot about being at the top, but when "Butter" wouldn't even come down, he joined the hype and promised himself to be a better version of himself, both in artistic and personal ways.
The golden maknae has declared that he isn't very fond of learning new things because he is being taught to, but because he learns them by himself. Recently, he has been improving his painting skills thanks to YouTube. Jungkook is fond of the idea of enriching his techniques in his favorite hobbies, acknowledging the fact that he is "very lazy" and he tends to "over think a lot, even more than people could imagine." He also admits to being a little goofy and tries to live his life to its fullest while playing around a little bit. Right now, his goal is to acquire more knowledge of the English language and the accent to make it right. JK talks about how his Busan accent might be a factor in the level of tone he uses while singing in a foreign language.
Not happy enough with "Dynamite" and the way he wanted to express himself through the song, he puts a lot of pressure on his skills with "Butter" and the remixes they were working on, saying that every time he gets to listen to their recordings, he is always disappointed in how they turn to be and the ways he could have sing it to make it better. JK adds that this is because he would never want ARMY to stop believing in him. Following the mention of the fandom, he couldn't stop saying how much he misses them, the way he gives his 100% on the stage during the online concerts, and the possibility of seeing ARMY again in front of him rather than the idea of them behind a camera.
