According to an exclusive report on June 18, CJ ENM has launched talks for the re-debut of the project girl group IZ*ONE.
Industry insiders representing the respective agencies of the IZ*ONE members said, "The IZ*ONE members have shown more will than anyone else in their wishes to promoting together, and there are mutual agreements between the agencies as well, so there are discussions in the direction of a reunion or re-debut. However, there are differences in some specific details which are currently being worked out."
A representative of CJ ENM also spoke up to address the rumors, with, "It's true that we are holding discussions with the agencies of the IZ*ONE members with various possibilities open, but nothing is confirmed. We are well aware of the fans' massive funding projects. However, even if the group were to return and a comeback were to take place, the project would take place with investment from CJ ENM, not through fan funding."
Meanwhile, project girl group IZ*ONE, born from the Mnet survival series 'Produce 48', wrapped up their official promotions back in April of this year. In the midst of the group's promotions, Mnet's 'Produce 48' was found to have rigged the final vote results of the competition, with several head producers of the series being sentenced to prison for illegal broadcast manipulation.
It's probably not going to be OT12. But I hope they get to re-debut the girls that are available together again. Rename them so they don't have to deal with that Produce rigging BS anymore. Even though I still dislike CJ, this is better than letting half the girls just go back to their small agencies and disappear into obscurity.
