From East to West: BTS's Jimin is praised by celebrities all around the world including Deddy Mahendra Desta, Sho Ayanokoji, and "Bendita"
Jimin's global popularity continues to shine as media personalities and celebrities from East to West show appreciation and admiration for the top idol. As an ultimate trendsetter and influencer, his brand power is felt worldwide as personalities and celebrities show interest in his fashion, style, music, and dance.
In the United States, BTS's main dancer and lead vocalist, Jimin, continues his steady popularity and has been named "US Media Darling" for charming American artists, authors, journalists, media personalities, and celebrities. The latest addition to the list is Lizzo, an American Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, and rapper who has expressed his admiration for Jimin.
On the eastern side of the globe, personalities and celebrities have also taken interest and expressed their admiration for Jimin. Jimin has been demonstrating his influence and popularity not only through his music and dance but also through his personality and style.
On April 3, Indonesian actor, comedian, musician, producer, and host Deddy MahendraDesta named Jimin his BTS bias on Indonesia’s "Tonight Show."
While talking to Indonesian actress Furry Citra about K-Pop, Desta asked Furry who she liked most now. She said she's a loyal BTS fan. Then Desta started talking about Jimin and mentions that he likes the idol but has no explanation for it then proceeds to add that it's because of Jimin's gestures and style.
It's the Jimin effect as we know it, that unexplainable feeling you get whenever you see Jimin. Even men aren't immune to this as Jimin has a long list of fanboys.
Desta has had leading roles in movies such as "Buka'an 8" and "Pretty Boys" and was a former member of the Indonesian pop music group "Clubeighties."
In Japan, famous Japanese singer Sho Ayanokoji of Japanese band Kishidan, who performed anime One Piece's opening "We Can!" mentions Jimin on his Twitter post on April 4.
In his tweet, he says, "I got the same lip balm that Jimin-chan used...But if my lips suddenly turn slightly red, people will be wondering, so for now, I'll just keep this in my room. I like the combination of black and red colors."
Sho Ayanokoji bought Rotho Mentholatum’s Water Lip Tone Up in "Pure Red," which sold out in every South Korean retail site after the release of “Episode BTS 2020 MTV VMAs shooting site” on their official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV in March. In the Bangtan Bomb episode, Jimin was seen applying the lip balm on his lips while preparing for their Dynamite performance.
His brand power is truly undeniable as even celebrities are influenced by products he uses without officially promoting them.
Sho Ayanokoji is the leader, composer, lyricist, and vocalist of the Japanese rock band Kishidan. Kishidan, which means "The Knights," is a legendary Japanese rock band known for making music for animes such as Naruto, Kamen Rider Ghost, and One Piece.
Oh, what a thrill it would be when Jimin finds out that he was mentioned by the singer of the band that made the opening for his favorite anime, "One Piece." Jimin has talked about being a big fan of the anime and has also practiced Kendo for 8 years which is a form of Japanese martial art and swordsmanship, because of Zoro, his favorite character.
In his homeland South Korea, journalists are talking about Jimin's pure talent and charisma on stage. It is only Jimin who can do a strong opening and killing parts in a routine.
He mesmerizes everyone on stage as a lead vocalist and main dancer because of his ethereal voice and perfectly pitched high notes.
One journalist mentioned that Jimin is dubbed as the "Master of Opening," as exhibited in BTS's hit song "Blood, Sweat, and Tears."
Along with his ethereal voice is his superb dancing as he is a well-renowned great dancer too. Both are not easy to do, but he is able to manage them efficiently.
Meanwhile, in Latin America, Jimin guest-starred in one of the most recent episodes of Argentina's popular talk show "Bendita" hosted by Beto Casella. The show utilized Zoom as its virtual platform for guest panelists due to COVID-19 restrictions. The show made it appear that Jimin is guesting virtually via a Zoom call as the production team decided to make him a special guest panelist. The host says, "it's a pleasure to have him here on the show." as he continues to interact as if Jimin is a real guest.
The video used during the segment was one of Jimin's live broadcasts on V-Live entitled "I'm Here~!".
The topic focused on recent news happening in Argentina regarding a famous TV host's grandson traveling out of the country to get the C0VlD-19 vaccine.
Bendita, a Spanish word that means sacred in English, is the name of the Argentine talk show hosted by Beto Casella with journalist Lola Cordero as a regular guest panelist.
Jimin surely has everyone enthralled; hence he is mentioned and highly regarded everywhere. His brand power is also limitless as even celebrities are influenced by his music, dance, and overall style and personality. And that's what it takes for our Recruiting Fairy to pique the interest and attention of people. From east to west, regardless of the language they speak, they show one love for BTS Jimin.
