Filipino fans of BTS's Jimin honor the frontliners with free meals in celebration of Jimin’s birthday
STAR CONTRIBUTOR
On October 24, BTS’s fans from the Philippines
through fanbase JiminEvent, @jimineventonly, honored the frontline workers at Jose Reyes Medical Center and San Lazaro Hospital by giving them free food packs and cakes in celebration of BTS Jimin’s 26th
birthday.
On Twitter, JiminEvent said, “Thank you. Our Frontliners. Food packs and cakes were given to our heroes at Jose Reyes Medical Center & San Lazaro Hospital. Thank you to all who participated in our cup sleeve event and for all the donations.” They further added, “Not only the frontline workers but all of us should step up and help each other,” quoting Jimin during his post-birthday live broadcast on October 20.
On August 17, JiminEvent announced its meaningful birthday support project for Jimin’s birthday. They posted an invitation and call for donations to raise funds and buy food packs and other necessities to be given to the hardworking frontliners of chosen hospitals. This is the Filipino fans’ way of saluting the brave frontliners for their dedication and sacrifices during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Through the donations gathered, the fanbase prepared food packs beautifully and decorated with BTS Jimin’s photo. They also gave delicious chocolate cakes with a heartwarming message, “Thank You Frontliners, from Park Jimin (BTS).” The fans then distributed them to medical workers of 2 chosen hospitals. The recipients happily posed for photos while holding posters saying “Happy Birthday Park Jimin!”, scenes that would surely melt hearts.

The two chosen hospitals are San Lazaro Hospital and Jose Reyes Medical Center, both located in the Philippines' capital, Manila, and both government facilities that cater mostly to COVID- affected patients in the Philippines.
Jimin has been known to consistently honor the frontliners during this pandemic.
During BTS’s World Press Day in celebration of their first Billboard’s Hot 100 No. 1 for Dynamite, Jimin offered comfort and healing words to the health workers and encouraged everyone to comfort and take care of them too. Jimin was lauded by the World Health Organization’s Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus because of the statement on September 3.
Such citation was recently repeated when Jimin during his post-birthday Vlive on October 20, once again reminded everyone to come together to bring an end to this pandemic. Jimin said, “To get this over with, you and I should all come together to end this situation. To do so, not onlyfrontline workers
but also all of us should step up and help each other. Let’s do our best and put an end to this.”
Additionally, another Filipino fan, @anddaeng_ posted an ongoing donation drive to still celebrate Jimtober (Jimin+October), Jimin’s birthday month. According to her, all the proceeds will go to Frontliner’s Kitchen, an initiative in the Philippines that feeds the fight against COVID-19.
Jimin and his fans continue such an exemplary fandom culture of giving as much as they receive to meaningful and great causes. Jimin effectively uses his platform and, through his wise words, encourages everyone to spread positivity and to help, comfort, and build up each other during the pandemic and put an end to it soon.
Thank you jimin fanbases for organizing amazing donation drives for jimin's birthday. He would love all of them🥺💖💖
