BTS’s V solo track: “Intro: Singularity” from BTS’s award-winning album “Love Yourself: Tear” has been on a record-breaking spree since its release in May 2018.
The music video of “Singularity” recorded a stunning viewership of 12.4 million in its first 24 hours. In the span of two years, the music video has garnered over 136 million views, becoming one of the most-watched BTS intros on YouTube.
The audio version of the song has also been steadily reaching new heights on major streaming platforms. As of today, Singularity has surpassed over 110 million streams on Spotify marking V as the fourth Korean solo artist to achieve this milestone. V’s Singularity currently holds the record as the only solo song of BTS to surpass over 110 million streams on both YouTube and Spotify.
Moreover, the song proved its ever-growing popularity by ranking at #5 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart and topping Amazon's best-seller list for International Music and Digital Music on its second anniversary.
Singularity is one of BTS’s most critically acclaimed songs by fans and global media. Aside from being mentioned on various “best of 2018” year-end lists by renowned western music critics, the live performance of Singularity is noted as one of the best solo performances by a BTS member. V stole hearts of fans, non-fans as well as critics as his entrancing performance of Singularity was mentioned as one of the top highlights of BTS’s concert and gained him the nickname of “Black Swan” from the Korean media.
