As YG Entertainment announced the agency’s exclusive contract renewal with members G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, T.O.P, and DAESUNG of BIGBANG on the 11th, international press of the US·UK·Asia immediately reported the according news.

Forbes, the American economics magazine, spotlighted BIGBANG’s influence in the K-Pop scene and their future.

Forbes introduced BIGBANG by declaring them as one of The group that had the biggest influence in K-Pop history, writing "one of South Korea’s most impactful pop acts" and added, “Their team activities and solo activities by the members have released numerous hits”. UK Metro also covered news regarding BIGBANG’s contract renewal and revealed their anticipations on their upcoming comeback performances. While Billboard describes them as seasoned performers, and how they were the first K-pop group to enter the Billboard 200 in 2012, which was groundbreaking. 

Chinese media also responded enthusiastically. Baidu, the biggest portal site of China, put BIGBANG’s news on their main music page, while the fans are continuously responding to the news with passion.

Dongbang News wrote, “We hope that the comeback of BIGBANG, the group with numerous Chinese fans, will decorate K-Pop culture splendidly in a global level”. Sina Music and MK Communications reported, “BIGBANG, the emperors of K-Pop, signed their third contract renewal with YG Entertainment”.

In addition, press form Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines showed high expectations on BIGBANG’s upcoming comeback activities and what kind of sensations they will bring with their new music.

YG has previously revealed, “BIGBANG will begin preparing new music for their comeback in 2020. We will provide our wholehearted support”.
