TWICE's Old Tracks & Albums Unexpectedly Rise on Music Charts

Posted by HelloAnon15,462 pts Friday, July 5, 2019

TWICE is once again proving both their physical and digital sales prowess as some of their past tracks see a sudden rise on music charts.

On July 5, 2019, their title track "Dance the Night Away" snagged the #2 spot on Melon's Sudden Rising Chart while "Yes or Yes" was on #4. Their hit song "Cheer Up" also amazingly climbed 281 spots to #20.

In addition, TWICE's old albums are also making a comeback as TWICECOASTER Lane 1 (released in 2016) took the #1 spot on Hanteo Real-Time Album Chart on July 4, 2019. The said album remains the Best Selling Album by a Kpop Girl Group on Hanteo. Other past albums that also made it to the chart were Page Two (released in 2016) at #5 and The Story Begins (released in 2015) at #6.

The reason for the sudden surge is unidentified but fans speculate that their series of successful concerts as part of their ongoing World Tour and current promotions for their Japan comeback may have greatly contributed.

Their songs resurfacing on the charts once in a while doesn't surprise me. People may argue about the quality of their music and that most of it are "cutesy" as what others say but that's the thing about TWICE and their songs. It's some sort of guilty pleasure to a lot of people. Like it or not, their music is the type that a lot of people will listen to no matter how much they claim to hate it or that it's not the genre they usually like. It's upbeat and catchy that unconsciously you just keep wanting to hear it because it's a mood booster. This group will not only go down the history as one of the best selling Kpop artists that ever graced the music industry but their music will continue to be timeless bops. Cheer Up most especially. That song swept the nation and catapulted them to fame. The rest of their hits just solidified their stance in the industry but Cheer Up is hands down the Queen.
