Back on May 3, Banana Culture announced Solji, LE, and Hyerin have renewed their contracts while Hani and Junghwa decided to leave the agency. At the showcase for their new album 'WE' on May 15, the members of EXID emphasized this does not mean disbandment.
Solji shared she worked harder for the new album instead of spending time worrying. She said, "During promotions, we can get tired since its physically exhausting but I think I will be able to joyfully and gratefully promote this time. In order to not make this our last (album), we're discussing how we can continue promotions with the members who did not renew the contract. We will have to try hard but being under different agencies does not mean we can't promote together. I can't tell you in what way we will promote but we are trying not to make this our last."
She continued, "It is not disbandment for EXID. Disbandment is not what we want. All 5 of us want to continue EXID. There are members who did not renew their contracts so some say isn't that basically disbandment but we don't plan to disband. We will try to continue."
Hani also agreed this album is extra meaningful and said, "There are many reasons why I made a different decision.."
LE added, "We are having many discussions in order to continue full group promotions. I don't think there will be 3-member EXID. We want to be EXID as 5. There can be unit promotions but this is not our last album." She assured fans to not worry and said, "Shinhwa sunbaenim was our role model since our debut. It's our dream to promote together wherever we are, and we will continue striving for that goal."
Junghwa lastly said, "I plan to announce the reason why I didn't renew my contract in the future. Please wait."
It’s funny since Each and everyone of the disbanded groups have said that and never comeback, maybe some photo together on insta, and it’s that all. Lol
