Girl's Day Hyeri has signed an exclusive contract with a new agency.
According to an industry insider on the 23rd, the Girl's Day member signed a contract with an independent acting agency and will focus exclusively on her career as an actress. Her current label DreamT and the new label have been in contact for a while and plan to complete the contract termination and transition soon.
Hyeri is well-known for her acting role in drama 'Reply 1988' in 2015 and her first film role in 'Mockingbird' in 2018. The singer will fully transition into acting with a new film later this year as well as an appearance in a tvN drama 'Miss Lee' scheduled to air in September.
Girl's Day contracts ended in January but they extended them for a limited period in order to complete promotion activities. According to prior reports, DreamT Entertainment confirmed that leader Sojin had decided not to renew her contract that expired in February, but denied that the group would disband. Hyeri's contract is set to expire in early August, while Yura and Minah's contracts are set to expire in September. Neither Hyeri, Yura, nor Minah plan to renew with Dream T.
In the meantime, Girl's Day had their last comeback in 2017 with title track 'I'll be yours.'
