Is Jennie being punished for dating? 

Contrary to previous reports stating all the members of season 1 are returning to the season 2 of SBS'Village Survival, The Eight,' it was revealed that Jennie is unable to participate in season 2 "because of Black Pink's overseas tour schedules."

YG Entertainment named Black Pink's world tour as the reason for her absence, however, netizens believe the decision was heavily influenced by her dating news. 

On the first day of 2019, Dispatch revealed Jennie and EXO's Kai are dating. SM Entertainment confirmed the news, while YG Entertainment remained silent. 

In response to the dating news, netizens jokingly commented that Jennie will be called up to the infamous 7th floor - Yang Hyun Suk's office - for creating a scandal. Many also stated Jennie will be "put back into the dungeon" for "betraying" Yang Hyun Suk who supposedly supported her the most out of all Black Pink members. With that being said, many were not too surprised about Jennie's absence on 'Village Survival, The Eight' season 2. 

Netizens commented, "Angry Yang taking action now," "Papa YG wouldn't let her go since he's angry with the dating news," "He's probably really mad since he supported her the most," "She deserves it for breaking the dating ban," "She should've stayed humble," "I understand YG though. They had no idea she was dating."

Many also agree Jennie had dating news too early in her career (Black Pink debuted in August 2016).
