Cheetah, JeA, and Kim Dong Han talked about their opinions on fans who spend too much money on idols.
On a new episode of SBS Mobidic's web reality talk show, 'Ssen My Way' ("Ssen" as in tough or strong in Korean), Brown Eyed Girls's JeA and Cheetah got together with Kim Dong Han to discuss a story of a fan who is struggling with her time and money due to 'fangirling'.
"I once spent $1000 to attend a fansign. Yet, I still didn't get in," wrote the advice-seeker. "Only my debt started increasing." In addition to her debt, she explained that her lack of time and money kept her from attending her own social events, such as her co-worker's wedding and leisure time with friends. "But, whenever a member recognizes me due to my efforts, it feels like I have the world," added the anonymous writer.
Regarding this issue, Cheetah first stated that "wanting to give my idols presents for (his) birthday to see him happy" is a natural feeling. People who judge the fan's decisions would not be acceptable, since the time and money spent would still belong to the fan. However, Cheetah and JeA both agreed that an excessive amount of time and money spent would eventually make that initial joy fade away.
"Love that brings too much pain over time and money is not real love," said Cheetah. JeA and Kim Dong Han applauded Cheetah for her wise words, and in turn, Cheetah also remarked, "Do not ever rub out your personal life away for your ultimate bias. Instead, 'melt' your ultimate bias into your personal life in positive ways." She added that the best method would be to share the positive vibe gathered from each other's work or studies.
As a current idol, Kim Dong Han also shared that "it is incredible to see these types of fans." However, he also stated that it sometimes worries him that these fans would "one day disappear," due to sudden tediousness caused by excessive activities.
