WINNER recently released their 2nd full album 'EVERYD4Y', along with its title track "EVERYDAY". In their comeback interview with media outlets, Kang Seung Yoon started, "Because it's our first full album since four years ago, it feels like our last four years are within the album itself. There is a variety of music ranging from tracks that were made four years ago to those that were recently made. It's exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time."
Lee Seung Hoon continued, "At first, [Yang Hyun Suk] had a negative perspective on a full album. He told us that if there were no good-quality songs, there was no point of a full album. We worked hard to record up to weekends while working on 2-3 songs weekly. After listening to the tracks, he decided that it would be okay to make a comeback with a full album. Even though working on 2-3 tracks weekly was physically difficult, we had a strong desire to gift the fans. I'd like to pat each member on the back."
During the interview, the members also opened up on their sunbaes, Big Bang, enlisting. "We have a big responsibility. Big Bang enlisted and rather than filling their spots, we have the mindset of not tainting the road they set up. There are many artists who grow without never getting first place or experiencing an alternation of joy and grief based on results. I think it's most important for us to expand our horizon and show growth in our music," Kang Seung Yoon shared, "[The Big Bang] sunbaes' reason for receiving so much love is because they didn't just halt where they were but grew, and because they let their music do the talking. We would like to follow the same path."
Lastly, Song Min Ho added, "Instead of the pressure of trying to fill Big Bang's shoes, I would like there to be a positive energy when I see YG Family. Both iKON and Big Bang did well. When our 'Really Really' did well, iKON congratulated us and when iKON did well this time around, we were really happy for them. B.I. told me he had a good feeling for about [our] album."
