Playback's member Hayoung recently opened up about her past hardships as an aspiring singer-actress.
It was revealed that Hayoung got casted at age 19 while working as a translator for 'Superstar K' in Los Angeles. Although her initial dream was to become an actress in Hollywood, CJ Entertainment had suddenly given her a chance to come to Korea.
"When I was in America, I auditioned for JYP Entertainment, too. During that profile shoot, I was also casted by an American agency...I still have hopes to debut in Hollywood as an actress," revealed Hayoung.
Hayoung expressed that her early trainee days were definitely not easy, but her transition into Coridel Entertainment at age 22 seemed to promise her better days.
Even as a debuted girl group member, however, the difficulties did not end. Playback went through a 2-year hiatus, which made her resort to other means to make money. She says, "I worked part-time as an English teacher for students and office employees. It might sound like an excuse, but we really didn't have many opportunities as singers."
She also expressed that she used to feel like an outsider on 'Mix Nine' because of her age. Despite the hardships, Hayoung eventually made the final Top 9, and now she says she feels more confident to keep moving forward!
Best of luck to Hayoung and to her dreams as an all-around entertainer!
