Like a prison version of the once popular show 'Real Men,' this new JTBC show confines male celebrities in prison, where they go through the daily activities and chores that prisoners carry out during their detention. However, some viewers who watched the first episode on January 19 questioned the main motives of the show.
According to the show's producer, the program has a moral meaning to make people refrain from committing crimes by showing them what it's like to live in prisons. But despite the well-meaning thought, some audiences said that there are actually normal citizens living in even worse conditions.
Netizens also claimed that putting innocent celebrities in peril, when they've committed no crime, may prove to be meaningless in conveying the desired message.
Some comments from the netizens read: "Why are they even doing this program? If they wanted to convey a meaningful message, then they should have done a documentary. Not something that induces laughter", "They romanticized the military and now the prison. The producer must be out of his mind," and more.
Currently, the show's cast members include Kim Jong Min, Yoo Byung Jae, Kim Bo Sung, Park Gun Hyung, JBJ's Kwon Hyun Bin, and more. Did you catch the premiere of 'Let's Live a Nice Life'?
