Among the many rumors regarding the accident, one stated that her pet dog Ginger�was also in her car at the time of the crash. In response to the rumors about Ginger, the police stated to Joongang Ilbo, "It's not yet confirmed if her pet dog was sitting in the passenger seat at the time." Another insider also commented, "I've not heard anything about her pet's involvement in the accident."

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment admitted that the accident was Taeyeon's fault and assured all passengers have been transferred to the hospital for treatment.�
