Since last week, she had been gaining attention for the fact that she is a trainee under JYP Entertainment but also featured on a trailer video for BTS. This week, she proved to the viewers and Yang Hyun Suk that she is more than just hype. During one of the interviews, she said, "I do feel the pressure because I'm worried about hurting the name of JYP. But since I'm already coming out with the title of JYP, I should try to make it into the top 9."

Shin Ryu Jin proceeded to dance to Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do". Once the music started, her personality drastically changed and performed in an amazing fashion that left the mouths of other contestants hanging. Yang Hyun Suk gave a positive feedback, "I understand why you were sent as an ace for 'Mix Nine'. I see what they saw in you. The thing I would like to compliment you on the most is your dance. Once you start, you become a completely different person. I would like to give you a high rating on dance." After airing the episode, Shin Ryu Jin's name popped up on Naver's most searched rankings for real-time.
