Marking six years since their official debut, the members opened up in a deep discussion, talking about their experiences on 'Mix Nine' as well as the likelihood of the group disbanding.
Q: It must have been a difficult decision to appear on an audition program regardless of debuting as an idol group after 6 years?
Cory: When watching 'Mix Nine' what surprised me the most was when we got a chance to introduce ourselves as a group, some trainees on the bus were like "It's 24K", "Uh? I dunno them..." hearing that, I thought my world was crumbling down on me as I felt so humiliated. The sad thing was the people working within the industry didn't know who we were. That really upset me.
Jungwook: I always joke around saying if we don't do well on 'Mix Nine', we have to disband. Because of that, we had to do our best on the program whether or not we disband. It was our moment to shine and be truly happy as singers. So that's why we also sang the song "As If It Were Your Last".
Kisoo: It's not like we don't have fans in Korea. We actually do have a lot of fans who have supported us for a long time. We wanted to show them what we were capable of as 24K.
Cory: It's not over yet, however, we are still nervous and tense right now due to the fact that people can only be giving us the attention for a bit and then decide to call it a day.
Q: All the members are in charge of composing, mixing and choreography?
Cory: Yes, when people listen to 24K's songs, we wanted to make them excited in less than 30 seconds. That was the main goal. We don't even have an engineer that checks the song, we just record on our own, talk about the lyrics altogether. I'm sure we are the only group that works like this.
