Kang Seung Yoon started off by saying, "We came back sooner than we thought." Song Min Ho added, "It is unusual for YG, but we are making our comeback very quickly. So please show us a lot of support." They also said, "We didn't choose this song for the purpose of taking on a new challenge. We worked on a song where we can tell our stories the best. We are just happy about the fact that we can release a song in a timely fashion."

Lee Seung Hoon said, "Considering our career choices, we don't necessarily have 100% freedom. We wanted to express a message which entails a hope and thirst for freedom." Kang Seung Yoon added to this, "We don't interact with our peers' cultures on a daily basis. But, we wanted to feel that when we get older, we can look back and think that we lived our youths with all of our efforts."

WINNER also looked back on their past activities. Lee Seung Hoon said, "At first, we felt like the ugly ducklings. We received a lot of feedback which said we didn't fit with YG's image.YG's hip-hop color is very strong and so even as trainees, we purposely tried to wear more hip-hop styles. However, now we are starting to find our own colors. I think we are becoming a positive example of an ugly duckling case, and it makes us happy."

For their comeback, they chose two songs "Love Me Love Me" and "Island", which highlight the friendships and lives they've experienced so far in their 20's. Their single album will be released on August 4 at 4:00 PM KST, in a matter of hours!
