"I Can Do It Myself" Korean customers appreciate the option of no customer service

It is well known that the customer service level in Korea is exceptional. Now, it appears that some places are starting to become more innovative with the whole idea.

Once a customer enters a cosmetic shop called 'Innisfree' in Korea, they will be able to see two different baskets for their shopping needs. One basket is colored green with a writing that reads, "I can do myself" to signify they don't need extra service or help from an employee. Whereas, the second basket is colored in an orange color that reads, "I need help" to show the workers in the shop that the specific customer may need more help than others.

One regular customer of Innisfree said, "When I went to department stores to just look around, I sometimes felt strained or burdened because the workers would be so close to me trying to help with everything. Here, it's more calming because there's no unseen tension between an employee at the store and myself."

The department store stated, "As customers become younger, there are more people who want to shop freely. It's different now compared to the past when customers felt they were given great service only after employees looked after them and they had face-to-face interactions."

What do you think about this idea? Would you like to see more of this implemented in your country?
