On May 31, MBC News covered a story of Daejeon Seongnam Elementary School's 5th-grade class, learning sign language for a deaf classmate.

The students had smiles on their faces as they followed the teacher's hand gestures. One student said in an interview, "Whenever the friend asked for something, we had to communicate with our bodies but after today, I think it will be much easier to speak with one another."
The student with the hearing disability shared, "My heart was hurt when I realized I was all alone as the students were unable to communicate in sign language."
A teacher at Daejeon Seongnam Elementary School explained, "We are doing our best to teach students how to communicate properly and not push someone away just because they are different, but to think they are the same human beings like themselves."
