As a K-pop fan, you must be dreaming of visiting or making a trip to South Korea - a country known for its amazing entertainment that's literally available 24/7.
But you know, we all have responsibilities, and not everyone can fly across the globe. That's why we've come up with a list of more affordable, convenient ways to get a taste of Korea, right here in the state of New Jersey where we're (allkpop) based out of. For our tri-state area readers, this should be juuuust a little bit closer to you than the motherland ;).
The top 5 places we recommend are listed below. Check it out!
Kudo Society
38 W Central Blvd, Palisades Park, NJ
This cafe/restaurant is the BOMB. If you really want to enjoy delicious Korean deserts, drinks, & food - Kudo Society is where you need to be. Their signature Kudossant, a homemade croissant waffle topped with whip cream, Nutella, and green tea ice cream (optional), just melts in your mouth. It's my personal favorite dessert and only available at Kudo. They're also well known for their Kimchi Pulled Pork Rice Bowl with egg, their home grind coffee beans, bubblicious bubble tea, and personalized latte art (you can print your favorite K-Pop idol on your latte free of charge - how cool is that?).
Check them out the next time you are in the area, but for those of you far away, you can order some of their delicious coffees and teas here.
EXIT 201
15 Grand Ave, Palisades Park, NJ
From pocha (short for pojangmacha) to noraebang (karaoke), this place has it all. This huge restaurant is perfect for those who don't like moving around too much from one place to place. You can enjoy a variety of Korean food along with drinks like soju and makgeolli (for those of you over 21), and head right to the noraebang located in the same building. Our staff really loves this place. In fact, it's where we always have our company parties!
King Spa & Fitness
321 Commercial Ave, Palisades Park, NJ
What is Korea without jjim-jil-bang, ya know? King Spa is not only famous in New Jersey but throughout the whole Korean community on the east coast. The place is huge with numerous different sauna rooms. It also has a restaurant, a juice bar, fitness center, PC room, massage room, and even a hair salon. You are also welcome to sleep here for an extra $10. Save hotel fees and enjoy some relaxing, fun time here. Tip: Make sure to check Groupon for a cheaper admission ticket.
Kang Ho Dong Baek Jeong
329 Bergen Blvd, Palisades Park, NJ
This restaurant is where you can enjoy all types of awesome Korean BBQ. It's been about a year since they opened and the consistency of their food is great. A nice atmosphere and quick friendly service makes this place a hot spot for some KBBQ. There's usually a long line for the Kang Ho Dong Baek Jeong located in NYC but this one's not as bad (and yes, the 'Kang Ho Dong' in the name is the Kang Ho Dong you're thinking of). Tip: finish up your meal with a refreshing bowl of naengmyun (buckwheat noodles).
Local Battles
1207 Anderson Avenue Fort Lee, NJ
The 3 main 'Bang, Bang, Bang's' of Korea are noraebang, jjimjilbang, and PC BANG! So here is the last 'Bang' on the list. Local Battles is a gaming center located in Fort Lee, NJ. If you enjoy gaming, especially with other video game lovers, you will love this place - It's definitely a cool place to chill and get your game on!
