In June, it was revealed that Kim Min Hee has been involved in an affair with movie director, Hong Sang Soo. Ever since the scandal, the actress avoided public appearances while criticism toward their relationship ensued. However, an insider revealed that Kim Min Hee is getting ready to return despite her recent scandal.
The insider stated, "Kim Min Hee started meeting up with her manager again, whom she has avoided since the Cannes Film Festival. She's showing signs of a comeback by discussing how to direct her path. They are also looking over various movie synopses. Furthermore, she never spoke up about her relationship with director Hong Sang Soo or talked about leaving the industry. A lot of people are still making offers to her. She's an even more of a #1 candidate [for movies] as her recent film, 'The Handmaiden', reached a peak in popularity."
