DOCTORS -- EPISODE 9
That awkward moment when your friends admit they pick their noses...
A drunken Seo Woo gets kicked out of Soon Hee's restaurant, having stayed well past closing. Yoon Do confesses to Ji Hong that he likes Hye Jung. Hye Jung threatens the assistant who wrote up the surgery notes for Grandma, wanting the truth about her death. President Hong resigns over a tax scandal. Seo Woo makes a conscious decision to be evil since being nice has gotten her nowhere. Hye Jung is given a new car by the mob boss she treated. Young doctor Kang Soo and Nurse Hyeon crash that expensive import car. After his resignation, the President undergoes an operation to remove cancerous cells, and Ji Hong tells Yoon Do that if his old man dies, Ji Hong will kill him...
And Seo Woo goes full-on bitch-mode. This is a girl who's had very little of consequence happen to her, and now she's crying over what? Failed relationship, bad professional decisions? Not really sympathetic. Everyone has this happen. Bearing it with grace is part of life. Being good has done little for her, so she decides to be evil and calculating? Seems extreme to me. At least we get a bad girl out of it.
Why is he the Hide and Seek champion? Because no one's looking for him.
We have a conspiracy on our hands. Once that guy is threatened, he goes straight to the director. The director was the surgeon that fateful night and he remembers Hye Jung. The director blows the dude off, but he has his assistant find out who was inquiring about the file. Ruh roh. Given what he did to the President, I think a number of people are going to have to fight to keep their jobs.
Ji Hong has lost his objectivity. That's the one thing a doctor can't afford to do. At least he admits it and knows it's bad, but I think keeping his cool will be the best way to save his adoptive father. What I'm hoping is that he doesn't lose more than that. The greedy board members see him as a threat and would delight in firing him. Not to mention he could lose Hye Jung's respect...
Slap cam!
Does Yoon Do really have a chance? He's admitted to everyone except his crush that he likes Hye Jung. He even says it to Seo Woo, much to her chagrin. Ji Hong doesn't take him seriously, but shouldn't he? Yoon Do could easily ally himself with any of their enemies and cause havoc. But then, that's the fun part about this drama -- you never know quite where it's headed. I have a feeling things are going to get worse before they get better.
I have to say that I like this drama a lot. You're probably getting tired of me saying it, but Mondays and Tuesdays are really days to look forward to. This has a lot of suspense amid the romance, and the blend is nicely done. And the next episode looks really juicy, if the trailer's anything to judge by. This episode especially had some turning points, so it will be interesting to see how those shake out.
Hope you're still with me on this!
