An accident occurred on a highway in North Jeolla Province, one that involved 2,000 chickens and was big enough to completely freeze up traffic.
This past April 22 around 1:30 p.m., a truck that was carrying 2,000 chickens crashed into a median strip, causing the chicken coop to be be dismantled and completely destroyed. Around 100 chickens perished from the accident and 300 chickens escaped the pen, congesting the roads.

Police had to direct the traffic for a total of three hours and clean up the mess by gathering the dead and escaped chickens.
The police believe that this unfortunate accident was the result of the truck's worn tires.
