Smile Ambassadors are university students who are in charge of Korea's smile. Smile Ambassadors are university students appointed as honorary ambassadors of Korea Visit Committee, leading Korea's warm welcoming culture through monthly activities and welcoming campaigns. So far, a total of 12 ambassadors and 900 students were actively engaged in various programs as Smile Ambassadors.
There was also a special event made for cultural exchange with international students, who visited Korea through the program. Smile Ambassadors and international students from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) get to meet each other! Smile Ambassadors dived into the interview with foreign students studying in Korea, wondering how foreigners would think of Korea and what to do to let them know of Korea.

Guess what international students think of Korea?
Paloma Lopez, a student from Mexico, replied, "Students in my school started to show more interest in Korea. It was quite surprising in all aspects at first; however, I found much similarities with my country as I get along."
Karla Naves, a student studying international trade, said, "Miracle on the Han River came to me as the most impressive one. It is the first time in history that the nation's economy grew this fast," showing much interest in Korean economy.
Other international students also explained their experience getting help from others when got lost, mentioning "Koreans are nice and kind".
In addition, students picked the university's administration and medical service as the most inconvenient part when living in Korea. Also, Valentina Jamba, a student from Angola, Africa, showed a little frustration towards Korean students, saying "They are nice but when it comes to becoming friends, it is a bit difficult."
Koreans are warmhearted, but it is true that they don't show the intimacy through a smiling face when it comes to the first impression. It might be those customs that make tourists and foreign students harder to become close to local Koreans.
This is how Visit Korea Committee started the 'K-Smile Campaign', a kind hospitality campaign throughout the whole nation! With the slogan "Korea smiles and world smiles back", we plans to constantly inform the importance of smile and warm hospitality. We ask for your continuous participation towards K-Smile Campaign.
Also, with the help of international students currently studying in Korea, we present you the tips on comfortable and fun life in Korea for those who are preparing to study abroad in Korea as we operate kind hospitality campaign.
We proudly introduce '24 hour Tourist Information Call 1330'! 1330 is a 24 hour tourist information call for both domestic and foreign tourists that offers various information when traveling to Korea. It not only supports tourist information but also provides a tourist translation service in English, Chinese, and Japanese to help tourists with the communication.
