The notice reads,
"1. Luhan and Kris's 'contract-nullification' lawsuit, which they filed through the Korean court, is currently in mediation, and both sides presented their desired terms and held negotiations multiple times. The mediation set for February 27 at the Korean court is still left, and in a situation where the representatives of both sides are already set to meet in China, the fact that SM filed a lawsuit makes their sincerity to the negotiations questionable.
2. As a major Korean entertainment agency, SM took advantage of their prominent position by negotiating an unreasonable and unfair contract with the agency celebrities. Thus, SM received multiple penalties from the Fair Trade Commission Republic of Korea. Luhan and Kris made several requests for the improvement of SM's excessive promotions, health risk, and income distribution, but they were rejected and ignored, leaving them to take legal action.
SM is aware of Luhan's reasons for filing a lawsuit pertaining to his contract, but claimed, 'Without any justifiable reason, [Luhan] went against the faith and ethics of the contract and left EXO for his own profit,' in their statement. This is an attempt to harm Luhan's image.
3. During SM's contract dispute with JYJ, they put a brake on JYJ's celebrity activities in Korea, reasoning to broadcast and radio stations that there was a 'contract dispute with JYJ'. The Fair Trade Commission Republic of Korea put a penalty on SM in 2013, ordering them to stop the 'restriction on JYJ's celebrity activities'. SM's target purpose in sending their official statement to entertainment organizations and media outlets in China and Hong Kong and filing a lawsuit, was to defame the character of Luhan and Kris and to limit their celebrity activities.
Although Luhan and Kris tried to resolve the dispute through mediation multiple times, SM released a misleading and threatening statement, leaving Luhan and Kris no choice but to take legal action to protect their legal rights and interests."
Kris and Luhan filed a contract-nullification lawsuit against SM Entertainment in May and October, respectively. Afterwards, the two continued their Chinese activities in the midst of their lawsuit with SM. SM officially filed a lawsuit through the Shanghai and Hong Kong court on the 4th and 10th, respectively against Luhan and affiliated advertisers and movie producers. SM is also expected to file against Kris as well.
