This 9-member boy group's name might sound familiar as they seem to be a reincarnated version of former group PURE. It seems after the leave of the former members, Pure Boy was born with new faces. However, what hasn't changed about the group or their agency is that they're still proclaiming their support for the reunification of TVXQ.
If you remember, the former version of the group, PURE, had previously announced their hopes for the reunion of the 5 members of the original TVXQ, and even held concerts for this cause.
The new Pure Boy also set out to support this idea by holding up signs about TVXQ's reunion on the busy streets of Myeondong on the 22nd, a day ahead of the release of their new winter single.
It's said the 9 members took turns holding up the sign, which read, "Even if it's just once, we want to see the 5-member TVXQ on stage." Their agency explained that this was because the agency executives as well as the members have a great fondness for the old TVXQ and still remember them as Kpop's kings.
Pure Boy's CEO Park Sang Hyun stated, "It is probably the wish of many to see the 5-member TVXQ sing on stage again... To let shine the brand of Korea, for the national interest of Korea, we hope that the two agencies of the members will be able to sincerely resolve their differences... As [TVXQ & JYJ] both have enlistments coming up, this is probably their last chance... We hope the fandom that has divided into two will not fight anymore and will create an atmosphere of reconciliation."
In response to the press releases regarding this, netizens stood divided in their opinions. Some expressed their annoyance that this rookie group seems to be using the topic of TVXQ's reunion for promotional tactics, especially since this Myeondong event took place a day before their new single. Others cheered on the boys as they also wished to see the 5-member TVXQ on stage again.
